Student Learning Outcomes

Students graduating from this program will:

  • Students will be able to apply advanced skills in conducting to their ensemble direction, analytical studies of musical scores, score reading, and rehearsal techniques.
  • Students will be able to apply advanced skills in music history and theory to their score study in preparation for conducting.
  • Students will be able to synthesize musicological research and apply it to their writing about music.
  • Students in choral conducting will be able to apply vocal pedagogy skills to their performances and rehearsals in English, German, French, Italian, and Latin diction.
