Student Learning Outcomes
Students graduating from this program will:
- Demonstrate advanced improvisational skills in jazz performance
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and performance capability of a diverse range of jazz standards, compositions, and forms
- Achieve technical proficiency on their primary instrument or voice, demonstrating groove, tone, articulation, language syntax and extended jazz techniques
- Show effective leadership, communication, and collaborative skills in various ensemble settings, including combos, big bands, and other groups
- Apply Research and Analytical Skills to Music, including Jazz
- Create arrangements that demonstrate personal vision and growth
