Program Description

Students completing a minor in Digital and Public Humanities discover, explore, and experiment, in the process developing critical research skills that integrate digital methods with scholarship in the humanities. The minor provides opportunities for students to work closely with faculty mentors in emerging research fields and on community-engaged projects. These high-impact, project-based experiences equip students for success in a variety of careers by training them to think creatively about the application of quantitative data analysis methods and digital communication tools to many different types of data.

Student Learning Outcomes

Students graduating from this program will:

  • Creatively apply data science methods and digital tools to materials that are not usually thought of as quantitatively analyzable.
  • Use digital tools to communicate effectively in a wide range of multimedia environments.
  • Apply Digital and Public Humanities skills in a creative project or exhibit.

At least 9 credit hours need to be at the 300-level or above.
