Applied Language Institute Program
Student Learning Outcomes
Students graduating from this program will:
- Writing: Demonstrate unified, coherent, and properly documented/cited writing with emphasis on academic sources, including paraphrased, summarized, and quoted citations with annotated bibliography of 5+ sources.
- Reading: Demonstrate reading proficiency through analyzing, explaining, and outlining main arguments and supporting details of modified or authentic texts and websites written for academic or general audiences, including academic textbook chapters.
- Speaking and Listening: Demonstrate unified, coherent oral communication in past, present, and future situations, on abstract, current, and academic topics, such as conversations/interviews with fluent English speakers, classroom lectures, discussions or debates.
